Lee’s Going to Northeastern Ontario

An Ontario That Works for Everyone: Northeastern edition

Beginning on Canada Day through to July 8, Lee will be touring the region, visiting communities from Sudbury to Hearst to Elliot Lake and many places in between.

Northern Ontario is central to Ontario’s story and the chapters we have yet to write.

Northeastern Ontario is a distinct and special part of Ontario. Renowned for its natural beauty, historical significance and diverse cultures, Northeastern Ontario is also an economic engine and hub for innovation, advanced learning and healthcare including Health Sciences North. You have to be there to fully appreciate the region and its unique cities, towns and rural communities like North Marathon and New Liskeard.

The issues that matter to people in the Northeast – whether it’s the workforce, roads, healthcare or housing – require distinct local and regional solutions.

That's why Lee is hitting the road to listen and learn firsthand from Northeastern communities, and Liberal colleagues.

Where Lee is Going

The tour will take Lee to 11 ridings throughout the region where she will meet with mayors, hospital teams, union leaders, businesses, educators, young people, and Liberals who care deeply about the future of this province. They include: Sudbury, Nickel Belt, Nipissing, Timmins, Thunder Bay-Superior North, Muschkegowuk – James Bay, Sault Ste. Marie, Algoma - Manitoulin, Timiskaming-Cochrane, Renfrew-Nippissing-Pembroke, and Parry Sound - Muskoka.

Why This Matters

Northeastern Ontario has too often been treated as an afterthought. Lee is running to change that. A strong Ontario needs a strong Northeast. That means real investment in healthcare, education, infrastructure, resource development, and local communities that meets local needs.

This tour is an important part of that commitment.

If you're in one of these communities, come out and say hello.
